With the passage of time, the work methodologies of companies have evolved towards collaborative work, being the most effective and the one that provides better and more results. In technology companies, agile cells have evolved the world of software, being one of the most used methodologies. Working as agile cells consists of working collaboratively, as a team, obtaining the best possible result in a project. The teams that apply this type of work methodology are highly productive and specialized teams for the development of specific technological solutions.

An agile cell is based on how living cells work. Each cell is an organism by itself with a specific function that needs the other cells to complement each other. This meshing would be the basis of agile cells. It is a way of organizing teams, generally small groups of no more than 10 people, where each one has a specific function, which is complemented by the functions of the others. It is of vital importance the good relationship and communication between team members, proactivity and creativity and, of course, a good communication with the customer.

In an agile cell there are a variety of roles such as developers, product owner and scrum master. During the work cycle, tasks are assigned on a daily basis and any progress and problems that may arise are reviewed. At the end, all the parties involved must meet to show the client the status of the development and the results, being a very collaborative and dynamic process.

How do our agile work cells work?

From an initial requirements gathering, the profiles that will make up the cell are determined. As a minimum, there will always be a Project Manager and a profile specialized in development. The members of the cell are trained and integrated into the structure and processes of the client company. Then all the details are polished through regular meetings: the cell needs more / less people, it is necessary to deepen the training in some technology, adaptation to work processes, etc.. At Dimensiona, we believe that close contact with the client through the Project Manager serves to precisely define the scope of the service, which optimizes cost management. Finally, the execution phase would come in with a determined number of hours, always subject to possible modifications according to the client’s needs.
